The family is the nucleus of developed societies. Therefore, the directives and visions of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Sharjah Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah have attached great attention and care for the family, aside from the fact that it’s the core of the developmental vision of the Emirate of Sharjah.

From this perspective, the Sharjah Supreme Council for Family Affairs was founded in 2000 to assume multiple roles, most importantly shaping the family-related general policies.

Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Supreme Council for Family Affairs, has established the guidelines that we follow and stick to when she said: “The strategies applied in social institutions must contain clear-cut and renewed goals, that can be translated into plans to measure their direct impact on society. Also, our work should be based on creativity in services to keep abreast with the aspirations of all society segments.”

Based on this approach, the Sharjah Supreme Council for Family Affairs and its affiliated departments play its role in an integrated and consistent manner to take the family to new heights, so that it can shoulder its responsibilities efficiently according to an institutional work based on the experience and knowledge of distinguished national cadres and the support of experts in the family-related issues to help empower all segments of society.
